Tapasya

A 21-Day Sadhana for Kailash Preparation

Brahma Muhurta Batch - 11 August 20264:30–5:30 AM ISTLast 3 seats leftRegistrations closing in 49 hours

There is a mountain that does not wait for you to be ready. It asks instead whether you arrive prepared in body, breath, and intention.

Tapasya is a curated 21-day online preparation program for sincere seekers preparing to walk the path to Mount Kailash and Lake Mansarovar, whether you travel with Sadhana Saarthi or independently. Not a fitness bootcamp. Not a checklist. A complete sadhana, physical, spiritual, and practical, to carry you from where you are now to standing at the base of Kailash, ready to receive the grace.

Why Most Pilgrims Arrive Unprepared

The Kailash Yatra is not a trek. It is a 52 km parikrama at altitudes crossing 18,000 feet, through terrain that does not forgive poor preparation. Most people prepare their bags. Few prepare their bodies, breath, minds, and energy for what the mountain actually asks of them.

Tapasya exists to close that gap completely.

The program

Special Sessions on Weekends

Alongside the daily sadhana, Tapasya holds deeper sessions on Saturdays and Sundays: physical readiness, the sacred geography of the route, and lived wisdom from those who have walked before you.

Medical Session with a Doctor Supporting Kailash Pilgrims

A weekend session with a physician who regularly supports Kailash yatris: altitude readiness, medications, pre-existing conditions, and what to monitor before and during the pilgrimage. Practical medical guidance from someone who knows what the route demands, with space for your questions.

Mountain Challenges (Do's & Dont's)

Clear do’s and don’ts for the mountain: pacing, layering, hydration, recovery, and how to respond when your body signals fatigue. Practical guidance so you train smart, avoid common mistakes, and build confidence for the kora.

Sacred Places on the Route

The significance, science, and stories behind the holy sites you will visit: Kailash, Ashtapad, Pashupatinath, Mansarovar, Rakshastal, Yamadwar, Gaurikund, Milarepa caves, Dolma La, and more. Arrive knowing not only where you are going, but why each place has drawn seekers for millennia.

Mountain Preparation (Gear & Shopping Checklist)

A practical gear and shopping checklist for Kailash: what to buy, what to borrow, what to avoid, and what truly matters at altitude. We cover layering basics, shoes and socks, rain and cold protection, medicines and essentials, and how to pack light without missing the basics.

Stories from Previous Yatras

Personal sharings from pilgrims who have walked Kailash before: what the journey asked of them, what shifted within, and what they wish they had known before they left.

Menstrual Hygiene at Altitude

A dedicated session on menstrual hygiene in the high Himalaya, led by a female mountaineer from the Nehru Institute of Mountaineering (NIM). Open, practical guidance for women preparing for Kailash.

Who This Is For

Sincere seekers with Kailash on their path, first-time pilgrims and seasoned trekkers alike, ready to show up with commitment. You do not need to book the Sadhana Saarthi yatra to join Tapasya. Whether you leave in a month or a year, this is where serious preparation begins.

Practices Structured by Sadhguru

All the yoga, pranayam, and meditation practices offered in Tapasya are practices structured by Sadhguru. Sessions follow a clear, step-by-step format so you can build consistency across the 21 days.

Classical Hatha Yoga

A steady progression of classical practices to build the foundational strength, balance, and ease that long walks and altitude demand.

Pranayam

Breath-based practices to support stability and resilience, while preparing the respiratory system for high altitude conditions.

Meditation

Meditation practices to deepen your inner orientation, so preparation is not only physical but also inward.

Sadhguru Gurukulam Classical Hatha Yoga Certified Teacher

Yoga sessions are led by Classical Hatha Yoga Teachers, certified by Sadhguru Gurukulam.

2 months of structured WhatsApp support

Your preparation continues beyond the live sessions. For two months, you receive structured WhatsApp support and guidance — to help you stay consistent, make the right adjustments, and prepare steadily for Kailash.

Daily tracking & accountability

Simple daily check-ins for step count, chanting, and physical activity — to build consistency without overthinking.

Step-by-step additions over time

Clear, progressive additions as your consistency builds — guidance that matches where you are, not a one-time dump of information.

Food & lifestyle insights

Practical inputs on food and lifestyle changes that support stamina, recovery, and steadiness as you prepare.

Direct access for questions

Ask questions and get clarifications from the instructors when you are unsure about a practice or a preparation step.

Suryansh

Founder, Sadhana Saarthi · Kailash kora pilgrim

Suryansh meditating with Mount Kailash in the background during the 2025 outer kora

The mountains have been my teacher for years. I have crossed some of the highest trekkable passes in the world and walked trails across the Himalayas and beyond. Having completed the Kailash Kora myself, I know what the journey asks of you and what it offers in return.

Tapasya is how I pass that preparation on: a structured 21-day sadhana for body, breath, mind, and energy. I lead every session personally, whether you travel with Sadhana Saarthi or independently, so you arrive ready to stand before Kailash.

Riya

Co-founder, Sadhana Saarthi

Riya, co-founder of Sadhana Saarthi and NIM-certified mountaineer

Riya is a mountaineer certified by the Nehru Institute of Mountaineering and has crossed the highest trekkable pass in the world. She brings that high-altitude readiness into Tapasya: practical mountain wisdom, physical preparation, and steady guidance for what the Himalaya asks of your body.

A professor with more than ten years of teaching experience, she knows how to meet people where they are and carry them forward with clarity. She is also a spiritual seeker and meditator, so the inner preparation matters as much as the physical.

Sharings from the Tapasya sangha

Reflections from seekers currently preparing for Kailash through Tapasya.

  • The Tapasya Program was God sent in my Insta feed… I feel more confident doing the Kailash yatra with the sessions… beyond gratitude to the team.

    Tapasya participant

  • Tapasya is truly beyond my expectations!

    Tapasya participant

  • I am so grateful that I came across Riya Akka and Suryansh Anna who are guiding us so well. My brother was so impressed with Anna and he was very keen to go ahead with Sadhana Saarthi only. They are indeed Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati for me.

    Tapasya participant

  • I am really feeling blessed to be part of this group. I will not have regret if I don't do the yatra. But somehow the feeling after joining this group is unexplainable for me.
